Security

HTTPS uses SSL to encrypt your interaction with the web site. Its 128-bit encryption protects your personal information from snooping, for instance, from devices that listen to Wi-Fi traffic. An encrypted certificate helps ensure that you are actually on the correct site and not an identical spoofing site designed to steal your login information.

Resources

The Resources section is a searchable web page sorted by topic that contains internet links, documents, videos, and other tools for financial and credit management.

FAQs

The Frequently Asked Questions section contains answers to your most common questions. If you can’t find the answer to your question there, contact your Financial Coach.

People

Financial Coach

Each user is assigned a financial coach. Your coach is available during regular business hours for financial coaching and assistance throughout your time in the program. Coaches are not financial advisors. You do not need to share your personal financial information with your coach to receive assistance. Your coach will not be able to view your financial information unless you give him or her specific permission.

Message center

An important feature of the Find Financial Freedom program is your relationship with your financial coach. The message center makes it easy for you to ask questions and exchange information with your coach whenever you are on the website.

Financial training

The Financial Freedom Cruise

The Financial Freedom Cruise is divided into two modules:

After taking the Financial Freedom Cruise Household Budgeting Module, you will:

• Understand how assets help people get ahead.
• Understand the impact of savings on getting ahead.
• Understand how to manage consumer debt.
• Develop a balanced savings and spending plan for yourself/family.

After taking the Financial Freedom Cruise Credit Counseling Module, you will:

• Know how to obtain and read credit reports.
• Understand credit scores and how to improve them.
• Know how and when to contact your creditors.
• Understand identity theft and how to prevent it.

Certificate of completion

A certificate of completion found on your Profile Page is awarded at the end of each module to each student who earns 80% or above on the post-assessment for that module.

IDA Education Requirements

The certificate can be used toward fulfilling New Hampshire IDA education requirements. For other states, check with their IDA program.

Profile

Account information

Your profile is where you manage your personal information, lesson activities, budget and credit score.

Your Dashboard

The dashboard provides a snapshot of what you have done on the Find Financial Freedom website, providing information about your progress through the Financial Freedom Cruise, your savings goals, your budget, and the improvement of your credit score. It also provides access to your portfolio which includes all of the activities associated with the Financial Freedom Cruise.

Financial Management Tools

Expense tracker

You can record your spending for a month or more using the expense tracker to help you build an accurate household budget.

Savings and spending plan

Your spending and savings plan shows how much income you have, how much you need to save, and how much you must spend each month. The savings and spending plan also contains a periodic savings calculator that helps you to figure out how much money you need to save each month for your quarterly, semi-annual, and annual payments.

Debt payoff calculator

The debt payoff calculator calculates the number of months required to pay off a credit card balance based on the balance, interest rate, and monthly payment amount. You can find this within the savings and spending plan.

Credit scores

As a part of the Find Financial Freedom program, you will receive information on how to obtain your credit scores. As you take steps to improve your credit, you can track the changes to your scores by typing your scores directly onto the Manage Your Credit page.
